Our Soldiers, Our Heroes was started by a mother of an Army Soldier, Bonnie Marshall.  Her son, Specialist Ryan Kozimor deployed on her birthday in 2012.  In an effort to fill the void, she created a page on Facebook, called Our Soldiers, Our Heroes  to connect with other families also going through deployment.  She immediately began to develop a large following of other Military Families, including connecting with another page on Facebook, called Army Moms and Girlfriends, etc.  One of the page owners, Lori, contacted Bonnie asking her for assistance in getting a couple of Heroes adopted, because Bonnie had such a large following.  Within mere moments of posting for volunteers, Bonnie had those Heroes adopted.  It was such a blessing to her to be able to help those Heroes, she wanted to do more.....but didn't know how to begin.

Her son noticed this, and contacted his mother telling her that numerous soldiers in his deployed unit were not receiving any mail or support from home.  It then became her mission to do something to support those men and women.

She quickly contacted a friend of hers TerriAnn, that runs a 501(c)(3) non profit Organization called MamaT'zMGA'z  located in Central Florida and asked her what she could do.  Terri explained how the program worked, the OPSEC / PERSEC rules, and Our Soldiers, Our Heroes, became a Unit of her Organization.

Bonnie then set up an "Adopt a Hero" event on Facebook, and within less than a month had adopted out over 400 Heroes.   Bonnie has since, quickly "outgrown" Facebook, and has created this website in the hopes of continuing her efforts to make sure that No Hero Ever Feels Forgotten!
